(Beaver Dam) There will be a special screening Tuesday (11/6) of a comedy movie starring Fred MacMurray. Father Was a Fullback will be shown at the Beaver Dam Community Library. MacMurray grew up in Beaver Dam and stars in the 1949 film alongside Maureen O’Hara. Local historian Roger Noll says MacMurray was a local athletic star for the Beaver Dam High School. He says the movie star garnered twelve letters in football, basketball, baseball and track. MacMurray’s career highlights include a 93-yard punt and a 53-yard drop kick field goal. The screening at the Beaver Dam Community Library begins at 6pm Tuesday with the airing of a Bob Hope television special featuring MacMurray. Father was a Fullback follows at 7pm.
