5/16/17 – A second man has pleaded not guilty to stealing 17-hundred cases of diapers from a United Way warehouse in the Fox Valley. Fifty-two-year-old John Forbes of Neenah was arraigned in Winnebago County Circuit Court yesterday on a felony theft charge. He’s due back in court June 14th for a pretrial conference, with a hearing set for June 29th for a possible plea deal. The other defendant, 42-year-old Jason Havel of Appleton, had a hearing yesterday on pretrial matters. Another hearing is set for next Monday before his scheduled trial the following day. Prosecutors say the two were apparently planning to sell the diapers they allegedly stole at a storage facility in Fox Crossing. The diapers were supposed to go to the needy in the Fox Valley. Both men also face charges in neighboring Outagamie County for the thefts of two forklifts from a warehouse.
