(Juneau) An area prison has donated to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office canine unit. Fox Lake Correctional Institution handed over a $1,000 check which will help offset the costs of training, gear, food, and medical expenses.
The sheriff’s office K-9 program has been in place since 2011 and assists in locating methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana on county roads. They also take part in school sniffs, interdiction details, and community appearances.
Officials with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office say they thank the medium-security state prison for their support and working partnership between the two agencies.
