The Columbus girls volleyball team swept Lodi 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-20) on Tuesday night.
During the match senior Hannah Fox became the first player in Columbus history with 1,000 career digs. Fox finished the match with 12 digs and 2 aces. Taylor Raley added 6 kills while Mckenzye Bruss added 10 assists in the win.
Fox told DailyDodge.com that she never really thought about 1,000 digs early in her career but as she grew closer to the number, she realized it was a possibility. She added that because of the pandemic, she wondered if she would have a chance to hit the milestone when the fall season got cancelled. She says she stayed positive and continued to work toward a potential spring season. After graduation she plans on attending UW-Oshkosh and pursue a career in pediatrics.
Columbus (5-4) will host Wisconsin Heights on Thursday.
