Fox Enters Plea in Fleeing Charge

(Beaver Dam) A Madison man charged with running from Dodge County authorities was in court this week.  Conan Fox entered plea of not guilty at an arraignment held Wednesday on a felony count of Fleeing. According to the criminal complaint, a sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle heading north on 151 near Highway 33 going nearly 20-miles-per-hour over the posted speed limit on September 26th. The deputy activated his emergency lights but the vehicle increased its speed, to over 100-miles-per-hour eventually reaching speeds in excess of 130. Waupun police were notified of the pursuit and set up spike stripes near Highway 26 which disabled the vehicle. Fox was allegedly identified as the driver. The 23-year-old reportedly said he fled because he did not want anything else to go on his driving record as he just recently got into a crash. If convicted, Fox faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison. A telephone scheduling conference has been scheduled for February 1st
