(Sullivan) A 14-year-old’s body was recovered from a pond in Jefferson County Sunday morning. Sheriff’s deputies responded to Nature’s Villa at N2899 Roger Road in the town of Sullivan just before 7pm Saturday.

A caller reported that a young male swimmer had gone under the water’s surface and could not be located. First responders, which included units from Beaver Dam and Watertown, searched the waters until nightfall conditions set in at around 9:30pm.

The search resumed at 7:30am yesterday, with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office working in conjunction with the DNR who utilized their underwater submersible drone with sonar and camera technology. The boy’s body was found just after 8:30am.

Sheriff Paul Milbrath says he, along with all Fire and EMS agencies who responded, extend their deepest heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family involved.
