Four Portage Residents Facing Various Drug Charges

(Portage) Four people from Portage have been arrested and are facing various drug related charges. On Tuesday, the Columbia County Drug Task Force was conducting an ongoing drug investigation involving methamphetamine in the city of Portage. During the course of the investigation, two search warrants were executed on two apartments in the downtown area. Sheriff Roger Brandner says methamphetamine, THC, drug paraphernalia and items used for the sale of meth were seized. He says more than two ounces of meth was also collected. Four people were taking into custody: 43-year-old Walter Madsen, 41-year-old Melissa Cardenas, 42-year-old Kenneth Perkey and 56-year-old Ryan Fraser. All are facing tentative charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver Meth, Maintaining a Drug Dwelling, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, among others. They are currently being held at the Columbia County Jail awaiting their initial appearances. Brandner says his office was assisted by the Portage Police Department.
