Former Waupun Correctional Inmate Sentenced To Five Years For Attacking Another Prisoner

(Waupun) A former inmate at Waupun Correctional was sentenced Friday to an additional five years in prison for attacking another prisoner. In August, a jury convicted Sir Jordan Cosby of Battery by Prisoner and Substantial Battery. In June of 2017, Cosby and another convict were observed by correctional officers attacking a third inmate. The victim appeared to be unconscious lying on the floor while Cosby repeatedly punched him. Prison staff intervened, restraining Cosby and overheard one of the assailant’s shout (quote) “that’s for my brother.” The victim was covered in blood and suffered severe trauma to his head and face. Dodge County prosecutors say the severity of the beating along with the defendant’s prior history of violence demonstrates the dangerousness of this defendant. The 28-year-old was also placed on extended supervision for three years.
