(Town of Hubbard) A former Beaver Dam School Board member was identified as the person killed on his motorcycle Friday evening. Jim Jansen was operating his bike on Highway 33 near Noble Road in the town of Hubbard when a payloader pulled into his path.
The 58-year-old, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was ejected from the motorcycle after hitting the ditch. Lifesaving efforts were not successful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 74-year-old Horicon man operating the pay loader was not injured.
Jansen served several terms on the board and was also known for his volunteerism in the community and his support of youth athletics, as he was both a coach and referee.
