Food Truck Operators In Beaver Dam Must Obtain A Permit

(Beaver Dam) Food truck operators in the city of Beaver Dam will need to obtain a permit to operate in the city, under changes to the municipal code approved Monday night by the common council. Food trucks will have to obtain a $50 permit, have a kitchen less than 365 square feet with a fire extinguisher and operate no fewer than 12 days per year. The ordinance does not impact mobile kitchens at festivals like Lake Days or brat fry stands at local grocery stores. The ordinance does not address food matters, that is governed by state health officials.
