Fond Du Lac Man Makes Initial Appearance On Fleeing Beaver Dam Police Charges

(Beaver Dam) A Fond du Lac man charged with running from Beaver Dam police made his initial appearance in court Wednesday. Patrick Gipson is facing a felony count of Fleeing. Gipson was reportedly wanted by authorities in Fond du Lac County for a hit and run incident involving a child on November 6th. He was last seen driving southbound on Highway 151 when Beaver Dam police spotted the suspected vehicle near Highway 33. According to the criminal complaint, a pursuit began as the vehicle turned back to 151 and headed south towards Highway 73 near Columbus at speeds near 90-miles-per-hour. A Columbia County sheriff’s deputy was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device which disabled the vehicle. If convicted, the 49-year-old faces no more than three-and-a-half years in prison. Cash bond was set at $2,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4th.
