Fond du Lac Man Convicted In Overdose Death

10/15/11 – A jury in Fond du Lac County has convicted a 21-year-old man of a lesser charge, for providing the heroin that killed a Fond du Lac man in an overdose. After a trial, Zachary Mallon was found innocent of first-degree reckless homicide and intimidating a witness. Instead, he was convicted of delivering heroin – and he still faces seven-and-a-half years behind bars. A sebtebcubg date was not immediately set. Authorities said 22-year-old Dustin Lamb died in September of last year after he overdosed at his apartment. During the four-day trial, prosecutors focused on a drug deal in the home of Rory Schalk. Schalk is charged with delivering and manufacturing heroin – and he’s scheduled to go on trial November 15th. He refused to testify in Mallon’s trial, even though a judge had ordered him to do so.
