(Fond du Lac) A longtime employee of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office will be stepping down at the end of this month. Chief Deputy Mark Strand announced Tuesday that he will be leaving the position after 37 plus years in the department. Strand says that he is truly honored to have served with countless men and women of the sheriff’s office through significant events, arrests and many intense situations. He says that he is prideful of those he was dependent on and those that were dependent on him. Strand added that there is no closer bond than the ones that were forged during his time in law enforcement and could not have imaged doing any other profession. He also thanked Sheriff Mylan Fink for his friendship over the years and that those memories and companionships will be with him during his next phase in life. Strand’s last day on the job will be August 30.
