Fond Du Lac County Authorities Confiscate Significant Amount Of Illegal Drugs

(Fond du Lac) Three different traffic stops over three days last month yielded a significant amount of illegal drugs being seized by Fond du Lac County authorities.

The first was on June 28th on Interstate 41 near County Highway B. During the stop, a deputy noticed a package that contained cocaine in plain view. The operator fled on foot but was quickly arrested. Roughly 59 grams of cocaine was confiscated.

The next day, sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle on I-41 near Lincoln Road for an equipment violation. A K-9 found over 1,000 counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl and 27 grams of marijuana hidden in the trunk under the spare tire.

On June 30th, a K-9 alerted a vehicle stopped on I-41 near Lost Arrow Road. Authorities found a bag containing 37 grams of marijuana. The driver was also concealing 27 grams of cocaine in a hidden pocket sewn into his pants.

Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says these three traffic stops alone prevented significant quantities of marijuana, cocaine, and counterfeit fentanyl pills from being distributed in the area. He says it is likely these drug seizures saved lives.
