Fond Du Lac Authorities Respond To Two Snowmobile Crashes Over The Weekend

(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac authorities responded to multiple snowmobile crashes over the weekend.

The first happened on Saturday just before 3pm. A Fond du Lac man had driven over thin ice a few hundred feet from the lighthouse near Lakeside Park by Lake Winnebago. Bystanders were able to throw him a rescue line and bring him safely to shore. The 31-year-old was arrested for suspicion of First Offense Operating Under the Influence.

The second crash happened around three hours later, in the township of Calumet. A Menasha man crashed while attempting to cross Highway HHH. The 69-year-old suffered what was believed to be serious injuries. He was also arrested on First Offense Operating Under the Influence charges.
