Florence Man Gets Six Months In Jail For Inappropriate Child Contact In Dodge County

(Burnett) A Florence man who had inappropriate contact with two young girls will spend six months in jail and 15 years on the sex offender registry. Jared Lee Bauer was initially charged with felony Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child but pled guilty to reduced misdemeanor charges of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior in April. Prosecutors say the 44-year-old was a family friend living with the victims when the offenses occurred in 2014 and 2015. The older victim told investigators that she did not realize she was assaulted until learning about sex education in school. Bauer warned the older child not to tell her parents. In speaking with investigators, he admitted to contact on ten occasions but minimized the interactions as incidental and blamed the victims. The six month jail sentence can be served with Huber work release. A mental health assessment was also ordered.
