Five Beaver Dam Youth Hockey Teams Heading To State

The Beaver Dam Hockey Association had five teams qualify for their respective state tournaments over the weekend.

The Squirts 10U qualified for the WAHA State Tournament in Antigo with a 6-0 win over Waupun in Fond du Lac.  Scoring for Beaver Dam were Xavier Wagner-Vargas with 3 goals, Isaiah Olds with 2 goals, and Bradyn Poznanski with 1 goal. Tyce Moreau was in the net for Beaver Dam. Miles Polenksa & Braxton Miles shared net duties for Waupun and had a combined 22 saves.

The 12U Pee-Wee Co-Op of Beaver Dam and Sun Prairie won their game this weekend to qualify.

Wildfire 10u girls overcame Elmbrook 5-1 to earn their spot at the WAHA State Championship Tournament in March. Brenna Rhodes was the leading goal scorer. Hailey Lathrop was in net.

Wildfire 12U girls earned an automatic bid due to hosting the tournament in March.

Wildfire 14U girls has made their first state tournament in the team history by beating Winter Club on Friday night 4-1.  Scoring for the Wildfire was Alexandria Stanul assisted by Damon, Lauren Ruis, Lilian Mansueto assisted by Ruis, and Addysen Damon assisted by Mansueto. Goalie Emily Smedema had 27 saves.

Both co-oped Bantam teams competed in the Dells Waterpark Classic.  The Bantam A’s took 1st place after a shootout win against Verona.  The Bantam B’s took 3rd place.
