Fitzgerald, King Advance In Primary Election

(Dodge County) There were a couple contested races in both congressional districts that cover the Dodge County-area on yesterday’s primary ballot, depending on your party affiliation.

Scott Fitzgerald defeated Cliff DeTemple for the Fifth Congressional seat being vacated by longtime GOP Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner. Fitzgerald tallied just over 77-percent of the 78-thousand votes cast. The Juneau Republican will advance to face Democrat Tom Palzewicz on the November ballot.

In the Sixth Congressional District, three democrats sought to unseat incumbent Republican Glenn Grothman. Jessica King secured around 75-percent of the vote to defeat Matthew Boor and Michael Beardsley.

In State Senate District 14, incumbent Republican Joan Ballweg was the top-vote getter over Kyle Van Dyke Sr.
