Fire Destroys Town of Trenton Home

2/19/17 – Fire completely destroyed a house in the Town of Trenton Friday evening. Firefighters from 13 different agencies joined the Waupun Fire Department in battling the blaze along Highway 151. Fire Chief BJ Demaa says the house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived on scene around 8pm. The property is owned by Dennis Schmitt and tenants Jason Heeringa and Tiffany Dines, along with a minor, were able to escape safely. There were no injuries but one dog perished. The Red Cross is assisting the family. No other buildings on the property were affected. The scene was cleared around 2am. The fire remains under investigation however Demaa says it is not considered suspicious.  Agencies assisting the Waupun Community Fire Department included fire departments from Alto, Beaver Dam, Brandon-Fairwater, Brownsville, Burnett, Fox Lake, Horicon, Juneau, Lamartine, Oakfield, Randolph, Waupun City Fire; RIT District Two; Lifestar Ambulance; Dodge County Sheriff’s Department; Wisconsin State Patrol; Dodge County Emergency Response Team and Alliant Energy.
