(Beaver Dam) A mobile home was completely destroyed by fire Thursday near South Beaver Dam. Just after 11am, the Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to N7253 Forest Road Lot 31. Calls to 911 reported that a fire had started on a porch but when crews arrived on scene, the mobile home was full involved with flames that where encroaching nearby units. Beaver Dam Fire Chief Alan Mannel says the blaze was brought under control by his department with assistance from Randolph, Juneau, Horicon and Lowell as well as the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Dodge County Emergency Management. The two occupants of the mobile home, who were inside at the time of the fire, were both able to escape through a bedroom window. Mannel says an adjacent mobile home also sustained damage as well as three nearby vehicles. He says two firefighters received minor injuries, one was treated on scene by EMS and the second was transported to Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Beaver Dam Fire Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. Mannel says a Fond du Lac Fire Department engine and an ambulance from the fire department in Watertown covered them while they were fighting the fire.
