(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam Department of Public Work crews will start the final round of leaf and garden debris pickup on Monday (November 29th). DPW officials say that leaves — along with lawn grass rakings resulting from leaf gathering, garden vines and stalks – should be placed in the terrace areas of the street edge in loose piles for collection. Yard waste cannot be placed in the street or gutter, or in any containers and try to avoid trees and light poles. Leaves, rakings and garden debris cannot be mixed with other forms of waste like brush or shrubbery cuttings. Fruits, nuts, and vegetables are not acceptable for pickup and should be disposed of as garbage. The items can also be dropped off at Beaver Dam’s Yard Waste site, which is located at 640 South Center Street. No waste of any kind is allowed from outside the city. DPW officials say completion of this final round is weather dependent. Brush collection is completed for the year and will start again in April. Residents are reminded that no bulk garbage should be placed at the curb until May. The city garage is closed Thursday and Friday.
