Few Changes Expected in Wisconsin After Minnesota Political Violence

The public can likely expect few changes as lawmakers discuss security measures at the State Capitol in Madison. That’s after two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot earlier this month.

“Social media certainly plays a big role in that,” said State Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) “It’s one thing when it’s words, but when it leads to the kind of violence like it did in Minnesota, it’s a whole new level of scary.”

Eleven Wisconsin officials were on the alleged Minnesota shooter’s hit list. Born says some ideas in Wisconsin have been ruled out, including less access to the capitol building and making lawmakers’ addresses private.
