(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County authorities seized a loaded handgun, a large amount of cash, and THC infused candy following a traffic stop Friday. A sheriff’s deputy patrolling Interstate 41 observed a southbound vehicle quickly exit at South Hickory Street around 6pm and pull into Kwik Trip in what appeared to be an attempt to avoid being stopped. The vehicle was pulled over for multiple moving violations.
Upon making contact with the driver, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana. While the Langlade County man was exiting the vehicle, law enforcement noticed a handgun in the driver’s side door jamb. The 23-year-old admitted he was not a concealed carry permit holder. Authorities also located approximately $70-thousand-dollars in cash and 29 bags of edible THC infused candy.
The driver was taken into custody on multiple drug and firearm related charges.
