Beaver Dam Man Accused Of Driving Wrong-Way Drunk, Killing Motorist

(Trenton) A motorist driving the wrong way on Highway 151 killed a Sun Prairie man in a head-on collision. The crash occurred after dispatchers started receiving reports around 10pm Sunday that a minivan was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. The 39-year-old Beaver Dam man driving the minivan struck the car just north of Redwood Road in the Town of Trenton. He was flown from the scene by Flight for Life to Aurora Hospital in Summit with life-threatening injuries. The 24-year-old Sun Prairie man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the case remains under investigation. Also responding to the scene were the Beaver Dam Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Beaver Dam Fire and EMS and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team. The incident was fifth fatal traffic crash in Dodge County this year and the second in the past week. The most recent occurred on Thursday afternoon, just outside Fox Lake.
