Expansion Of St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store In Beaver Dam Underway

(Beaver Dam) St. Vincent de Paul of Dodge County broke ground this week on a 22-thousand-square-foot expansion of their thrift store. Last November, the non-profit launched a capital campaign entitled “Building to Serve our Neighbors” seeking to raise $1-million-dollars. The organization says they have seen a prolonged and rising monthly increase in the number of families in need of help. Thrift Store Manager Ben Nelson says the primary purpose of the effort is to expand their capacity for providing assistance. A few of the key elements of the expansion is to enlarge the size of the donations processing area, add sales space, increase parking and add a sheltered donations drop-off area. As part of their expansion plans the organization acquired 3.9 acres of land, west of the store. Completion is slated for the spring of 2021.
