Crossroads of Wisconsin History: Revisiting the Portage of 1832

Adam Novey – Executive Director and Curator at the Historic Indian Agency House will be doing a program on early Portage. Portage was originally named for the Fox-Wisconsin portage. Portage meaning ” a carrying place between the waters of two rivers.”
He will also talk about the Historic Indian Agency House which was built in 1832 for the U.S. Indian sub-agent, John Harris Kinzie and his wife Juliette.
Refreshments are offered after the program.
