Beaver Dam Memorial Day Ceremony

May 30, 2022 @ 10:15 AM - 11:30 AM

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Memorial Day Committee has been very busy planning to get back to normal for this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony again.

The Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 30, 2022.  With the pandemic still around yet it still made it hard to have a full funeral services for some of our deceased Veterans. With this service we wish to extend that service to honor them on Memorial Day. These Veterans have served in order to preserve our country’s freedom.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Park starting at 10:15AM sharp located in the Oakwood Cemetery on Hwy 33/151.  The AMVETS of Beaver Dam is sponsoring this year’s ceremony.  The service will include the reading of the names of Veterans who have passed away in the past year.  During the Memorial Service at the cemetery some park benches will be available for seating but do bring lawn chairs and blankets for additional seating. We will try to set-up everything using social distancing and use your own discretion to wear a mask.   The Memorial Service will be broadcasted and live streamed on WBEV/Daily Dodge for those who can’t attend in person.

The Beaver Dam High School Marching Band and St Katherine Drexel Marching Band will be providing music for the Memorial Service.

We will be having a FLYOVER Over again this year which makes the reading of the deceased Veterans names more special, if the weather permits

We are honored to have Andrew (Andy) Miller, Dodge County Veterans Service Officers. He first joined the National Guard in 1989 and then joined the Army in 1991 following the Gulf War. He spend about 9 years in Germany and about 3 years in Southwest Asia between Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The rest of time serving was all over the U.S. with no more than 3 years at any duty station.  He retired from the Army just shy of 22 years. He has been the Dodge County Service Officer since 2015 to present.

If you have any questions call, Chuck Staab 920-887-8247, Del Yaroch 920-885-6903 or Lois Levenhagen 920-887-0642.

In case of bad weather conditions, listen to WBEV and it will be announce between 8AM and 8:30 AM if the Memorial Service will be moved to the Veterans Center, 300 Beichl Ave starting at 10:30 am.  Everyone is invited to come and participate.
