Eugene K. Hintz, 88, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at his home.
Eugene was born on April 30, 1935 in Horicon to Alfred H. and Margarite (Schoenwetter) Hintz. He was a 1953 graduate of Horicon High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a technician during the Korean War and later served as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 for the U.S. Army Reserves. Eugene was also employed throughout the years with Monarch Range, Fleet Farm, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and an over the road truck driver. He was very proud to be a volunteer firefighter with the Beaver Dam Fire Department. Eugene was married to Melodye Bord on October 1, 1960 in Dubuque, IA.
Eugene enjoyed spending time at his cabin in northern Wisconsin where he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. He loved gardening and was an avid model train collector.
Eugene is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Melodye Hintz of Beaver Dam; niece Randeen Kranz; great nieces, Holly (Mark) Gerber and Tracie Garczynski; brothers-in-laws: Eugene R. Bord and Roger F. (Mary Beth) Bord, sister-in-law Julia A. (Richard Price) Rogers; nieces: Nicole Smith, Rebecca Bord, and Christine Johnson; nephews: Dean Bord, Jeff Bord, Matt Bord, Jeffrey Hintz and Michael Hintz; great nephew Andy Bohl; special great nieces Rayel J. Smith and Elizabeth A. Smith; special friends Patricia Martin and Betty Kehl; as well as other relatives and friends.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: James Hintz; sister in law Audrey A. Hintz; Joyce Hoffman; brothers-in-law: Frankie Hoffman and Robert Bord; nephews: Kurt C. Hintz, Sr., Timothy Hintz, Toby Bord and Robbie Bord; and great nephew Tyler P. Kranz.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton with graveside military honors to be conducted.
