Emily’s Closet: Fundraiser Seeking, Selling Prom Dresses

(Beaver Dam) A fundraiser is seeking prom dresses to raise money for a scholarship established for a fallen Beaver Dam High School alum. The Emily’s Closet fundraiser is in memory of 2014 grad Emily Lyons who died in a snowmobile accident in 2015.

Emily’s classmate, Arianna Weinberger says the intent of the charity is to take in donations of prom dresses and sell them for under half the cost as a way to support her scholarship fund. Weinberger says there will be a wide variety of dresses for sales in all shapes and sizes.

During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Weinberger told us that Century 21 in Beaver Dam has been generous in opening their doors to help store the many dresses that have been collected.

Donations can be dropped off at Century 21 on North Spring Street today (Friday 2/7) as well as next week Monday (2/10) through Thursday (2/13) from 3pm to 6pm. The sale will be on Friday, February 14th from 4pm to 8pm, the Saturday, February 15th from noon to 4pm and the Sunday, February 16th from 10am till 2pm at 127 Front Street in Beaver Dam.
