Eight Inmates Have Died Of Coronavirus At Dodge County Prisons

(Dodge County) There has been a total of eight inmate deaths from COVID-19 in Dodge County prisons, according to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. There have been four deaths reported at Waupun Correctional, two at Fox Lake Correctional and two at Dodge Correctional; which occurred in September. The department of corrections released which prisons in Wisconsin had inmates die of the virus for the first time this week. So far, a total of 25 prisoners have died statewide.

The Fox Lake facility has had 893 positive cases among inmates with no current active cases. The prison has had 140 staff members test positive for coronavirus.

Seven-hundred-and-twenty-four inmates at Dodge Correctional have had the virus, six are active cases. No facility has had more employees test positive than Dodge Correctional with 166.

At nearby Waupun Correctional, all of the 719 inmates reported to have COVID-19 have recovered. The prison has had 127 staff members confirmed to have the coronavirus.

Two inmates at John C. Burke currently have the virus while 34 have recovered. The facility has had twenty employees test positive.
