Eight Area Runners Set For State Cross Country

Eight area student athletes are competing in Saturday’s WIAA State Cross Country Meet.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the WIAA has split up the event with each division’s races at different sites.

At the Division One meet at Hartland Arrowhead, Beaver Dam’s Gavin Czarnecki and Makenzi Gritzmacher and Watertown’s Emma Gilbertson will be racing.

Waupun is sending a pair of runners to the Division Two Meet at Colby.   Rhyer Smit will race for the boys while Naomi Aalsma has qualified for the girls event.

In Division Three at West Salem, Dodgeland’s Ava Raasch will be racing in the girls meet.   On the boys side, Dodgeland’s Evan Finger and Horicon’s Austin Zamorano have qualified for state.
