Eden Man Seriously Injured In Suspected Drunk Driving Crash

(Town of Eden) An Eden man was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’ Office responded to reports of a single vehicle rollover with unknown injuries on County Highway V at Greenway Road around 3am.

Deputies initially located a pickup, upside down with no occupants. The initial investigation shows that the pickup was northbound on County V when it left the roadway and went airborne. Deputies and rescue personnel searched the area and surrounding buildings but were initially unable to find anyone.

Ultimately, the driver and lone occupant was located at a nearby residence. He was flown via Theda Star helicopter to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

The 34-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. He was arrested on suspicion of first offense Operating While Intoxicated and also cited for Operating Left of Center and Failure to Fasten Safety Belt. Assisting on scene were Campbellsport Ambulance, Eden First Responders and the Eden Fire Department.
