Under the general direction of Human Services Supervisor, determines eligibility and provides ongoing case management for Dodge County/Capital Consortium in a timely and accurate manner for the following public assistance programs: Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus, FoodShare, Caretaker Supplement and Wisconsin Shares Child Care programs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts intensive investigative interviews to obtain and evaluate financial and non-financial information in order to determine program eligibility
Working knowledge of community social conditions, and of public assistance program policies and procedures.
LEVEL I : High school diploma or GED equivalent, including or supplemented by coursework, training and/or experience in office support methods and technology. Some experience in dealing with the public is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
LEVEL II: Two (2) years of experience as an Economic Support Specialist using the current regulations and technology of the State of Wisconsin computer systems, successful completion of State mandated economic support training, and demonstrated satisfactory performance evaluation from their supervisor, OR, after one (1) year of experience as Economic Support Specialist, successful completion of State mandated economic support training, at least 16 academic credit hours from a college or university with six (6) of those hours within human service/social service field.
Office working conditions with considerable exposure to interruptions. Some fieldwork is required.
