6/17/12 – A 42-year-old Illinois man drowned Saturday morning in Lake Winnebago at High Cliff State Park in Sherwood. The Calumet County Sheriff’s Department says the drowning occurred just before 8am during the High Cliff Triathlon, which had volunteer lifeguards on site for the event. The man was identified as Doug Witmer of Lagrange. The incident is under investigation.
