(Columbus) An apparent drunk driver crashed into a house near Columbus yesterday Sunday, trapping a woman inside. Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner says the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle sustained numerous non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. He was northbound on Highway 89 when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and crashed into a bedroom of a house. The woman who was trapped by the vehicle in the bedroom was injured though the sheriff says the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. Another male inside the residence escaped injury. Brandner says alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
