(Beaver Dam) Those interested in joining a group that focuses on revitalizing the downtown are encouraged to attend an upcoming gathering. Downtown Beaver Dam Inc. is holding their annual membership meeting this week. Member Tekla Wlodarczyk Nunez says those wanting to sign up do not have to be a resident from Beaver Dam and that the common factor is an interest in downtown Beaver Dam. The meeting will be this Friday at noon at the Watermark located at 209 South Center Street. There is a yearly membership fee of $24 dollars to join which can be paid online or at the meeting. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Acting President Karen Gibbs explains what a membership includes. She says a member will receive updates on new initiatives and advanced notice about special events in the downtown plus voting privileges at each annual meeting. Mayor Becky Glewen will be on hand to give an update on the downtown revitalization effort. To learn more, you can visit the group’s website at www.bddowntown.com, Facebook page, or reach out to Gibbs at 920-887-4835 with questions.
