(Beaver Dam) The recent vandalism of the Beaver Dam Rotary’s Christmas light display is underscoring efforts to install security camera’s at Swan Park. The Rotary Lights Committee along with support from Inter-Quest, have started the process of getting wi-fi to Swan Park along with putting up security cameras. Committee Chairperson and Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt credits the Inter-Quest team for their hard work on this project and creating a proposal to make it happen. He says the downtown Beaver Dam business is donating $45,000 towards the initiative and that the Rotary Lights are looking to raise another $10,000. He says they are hoping to garner public support. Schmidt says checks can be made out to the city of Beaver Dam Rotary Lights and in the memo section write: Camera Program or Wi-Fi Program. Once the $10,000 is raised and the equipment is in place, the park would be Wi-Fi enabled for five years. Schmidt says at that time, the program would be reevaluated and to check if any cameras needed updating.
