DOJ To Fund Most Of Beaver Dam Police Station Fiber Optics

9/15/17 – The Beaver Dam Police Department will soon see a secure, high-speed internet connection inside their police stations. Police Chief John Kreuziger says the state Justice Department is going to fund most of the cost of running a dedicate fiber optic line into the six-year-old facility on Park Avenue; the city is only expected to cover $3000 of the cost. Kreuziger says the connection is intended to speed up contact with the state when vehicle plates are run and background checks are conducted. The fiber optic line would be connected from behind the police station on Washington Street and would be run underground so the parking lot would need to be torn up. Fortunately, Kreuziger says there is an area in the parking lot that needed to be repaired anyway.
