5/6/17 – The ribbon will be cut this afternoon on a new dog park at the Dodge County Humane Society. The Randy C. Fiegel Memorial Dog Park is 2.5-acre enclosed area will be located behind the Humane Society’s building on Highway 26 in Juneau. Shelter Executive Director Kensie Drinkwine says the facility includes separate areas for large and small dogs as well as play equipment, walking paths and drinking fountains for dogs and people. Architect Marty Sell of the firm Rketek designed the dog park. Sell says there is an enclosure for small dogs below 30-pounds and two enclosures for larger dogs. The dog park ribbon cutting is part of an open house at the Human Society being held from 11am until 4pm. The event will include tours of the facility and the dog park, vendors, food, canine demonstrations and kids activities like a bounce house. While the ribbon will be cut on the dog park today, the facility will not be open to dogs until tomorrow because of the festivities taking place and the large numbers of people expected today. Yearly membership and day passes are available.
