Dodgeland School Board Adopts 2018-19 District Budget

(Juneau) The Dodgeland School Board adopted their 2018-2019 district budget this week. The $10.7-million dollar document carries a tax level of $3.75-million which is a decrease of 8.3-percent or $340-thousand dollars from last year. The mill rate of $11.15 per one-thousand dollars of assessed value is a one-dollar and 32-cent drop from a year ago. District Administrator Annette Thompson says the budget was a challenge that was impacted by a minor decrease in student enrollment which influenced revenue limits.  She says they were aided by a healthy fund balance that allowed the district to cover a slight budget deficit this year of roughly $124-thousand dollars. Thompson says their support staff saw a small wage increase as well as a modest increase in health insurance.
