Dodgeland Boys Basketball Has A Lot of New Faces This Season

The Dodgeland boys basketball team has used the early part of the 2019-20 season to define news roles for returning players and settle new faces into the rotation.  Head coach Bill Otte says he’s seen up and down results from his squad during their 2-3 start.  They’ve picked up wins against Fall River and Horicon and dropped games to Johnson Creek, Waterloo and Central Wisconsin Christian.  One of the big challenges for this year’s squad is to replace the production of 1st Team All-Trailways East selection Zach Yuegner who averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds last season as a senior.  The Trojans return two starters from last year in senior Seth Christopherson and junior Sy Otte.  Both have been doing their best to carry the scoring load as Christopherson has been averaging about 20 points per game while Otte is also chipping 9 points per contest.   Dilan Fenner and Caden Brugger have also been adding about 7 points per game.  Coach Otte says his team is shooting more three-pointers than they did last year and if they are going to push their way up the Trailways East Conference standings they must take care of the basketball.  He adds that they also need consistent play in the post.   Dodgeland travels to Oshkosh for a match-up with defending Trailways East champ Lourdes Academy tonight.
