(JUNEAU) Dodge County’s budget process is in full swing. County leaders have been pouring through the operational expenses for all departments over the last few weeks.
Administrator Cameron Clapper says the next step is hammering out the Capital Improvements Plan. He notes that discussions will center around road improvements and facility upgrades.
“We have a goal for completing 22-miles of road projects every year in order to maintain our entire road system,” says Clapper. “Also important…a number of other projects related to our facilities. What do we do for our physical facilities long term? We have a lot of old buildings and somethings that are starting to breakdown…we need to either replace or significantly renovate.”
Clapper says the goal is to have the budget document before county supervisors in early October for review. Final adoption is slated for November.
