(Juneau) The Dodge County website has added a COVID-19 vaccination information page. The latest weekly update from the Dodge County Health Department highlights the new tab that will be updated regularly when new vaccine information becomes available. Currently, Wisconsin is in the first phase of the vaccination rollout plan which opens up eligibility for healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents. The second phase, which will begin allowing the general public to schedule a vaccination shot, is not anticipated to begin until the summer months. Dodge County health officials say the phase progression is set by the state health department and they must follow their directions.
The weekly rate of positive tests between January 11th and the 17th was 32-percent; which is 219 people out of the 673 tested. Health officials say the goal is a percentage lower than five with a downward trajectory of a cases. Achieving those figures would allow Dodge County to move out of phase-one of its three-phase Safe Restart Plan, which recommends guidelines for businesses, social gatherings and community events. The number of cases and hospital space remain in the red while contact tracing is in the yellow. The only metrics of the plan in the green are testing and personal protective equipment.
