Dodge County Vaccination Numbers Lag Behind Neighboring Counties

(Madison) Governor Tony Evers, echoing the pleas of hard-pressed health professionals across the state, urges Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against COVID as hospitals are flooded with new cases. He says (quote) “the answers to deal with this are right in front of us…they’re called vaccines.” Evers says “they work and we’re going to continue to encourage people to get vaccinated.” Wisconsin hospitals are contending with numbers of COVID hospitalizations not seen since late 2020, before vaccines were first available.

So far, 48.6-percent of Dodge County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine while 46.3-percent have completed the vaccination series. Every county surrounding Dodge County is above 50-percent completely vaccinated outside of Fond du Lac County which is at 49.4-percent. Weekly vaccine doses have also trended downward in the county since the end of August when 1,115 shots were administered between the 22nd and 29th. During the week ending on November 21st, only 262 doses were administered. The county remains in the “critically high” COVID activity level.
