(Dodge County) Jobless claims in the region saw little to no movement in the month of September.
The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.8-percent in the ninth month of 2022 which is the same figure the county saw in July. Last year, the number was 2.4-percent. Dodge County improved one spot in the statewide unemployment ranking to 14th.
Columbia County saw no change as well and their jobless numbers are also 2.8-percent. Their figure last year was 2.5-percent.
Jefferson County’s jobless numbers also stayed the same from August to September at 2.9-percent. In 2021, their rate was 2.6-percent.
Fond du Lac County reported a two-tenth of a percent drop in their unemployment numbers, going from 3-percent in August to 2.8-percent in September. A year ago, the number was 2.5-percent.
Statewide jobless numbers in September were 3.2-percent which is three-tenths of a percent lower than the national average.
