(Dodge County) The Dodge County Traffic Safety Commission wants motorists to be “TireWise” when traveling the states roadways this summer. Coordinator for the Dodge County Traffic Safety Commission, Joel Kiesow, says whether your’re planning a family adventure, getting ready for a beach trip, or just catching up on vehicle maintenance, don’t neglect your tires. On average drivers in the United States put more than 2969 billion miles on their tires. The U.S. also sees nearly 11,000 tire related crashes with almost 200 deaths as a result. Motorists are reminded that many of these crashes can be prevented through proper tire maintenance. Tires should be inflated to manufacture recommended levels, properly rotated, and balanced. Kiesow reminds drivers that proper tire maintenance is not only essential for driving safely, but can help motorists get the most mileage from every gallon of fuel or electric vehicle charge.
