Dodge County Sheriff’s Office – Youth Snowmobile Operation

(Dodge County) Although there is a lack of the fluffy white stuff needed to pull out your snowmobiles, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is taking the time to remind residents of the rules and regulations regarding youth drivers.  According to state law, no child under the age of 12 can operate a snowmobile by themselves, and hence must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or a person 18 years of age or older.  The parent, guardian, or person over the age of 18 must have his or her snowmobile safety certificate.  Although riding the trails can be fun, residents are reminded that not following these rules can lead to accidents with severe injuries or could be fatal.
