Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Welcoming Public Donations For Electronic Speed Signs

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is looking for sponsors to help install electric speed signs around the county. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says his department had budgeted for them last year but were not able to put the signs up due to funding cutbacks. The signs cost roughly $3,000 apiece and need to be DOT regulated. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Schmidt said a member of the community suggested giving the public the option to donate to the cause. He says there are several hotspots areas that could use electronic speed enforcement signs including Highways E and A. Schmidt says if anyone is interested in looking to donate can make a check out in any amount to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office; noting on the memo line that the money is for speed enforcement signs.
