Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls is going on military leave until next spring. Nehls has been accepted into the 2010 class of the National War College, a prestigious honor bestowed only on a select few. The War College is located in Washington DC and is used to educate future leaders of the Armed Forces, State Department and other civilian agencies for high-level policy, command and staff responsibilities. Nehls must report by Friday. In his absence, Chief Deputy Blain Lauersdorf will head the staff. Nehls says his plan is to return next spring and aggressively pursue a re-election to a third term.
