9/7/17 – Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt is taking part of a statewide effort to raise money for law enforcement in the Houston area. The Badger State Sheriffsโ Association is asking every Wisconsin sheriff and each of their employees to participate in the โSheriffs Adopting Sheriffsโ Hurricane Harvey Assistance program. Each of Wisconsinโs 72 sheriffโs offices has the opportunity to assist sheriffโs office employees in Texas who worked to provide lifesaving assistance to area residents while their individual family and property suffered a major loss. The intent is to provide direct financial assistance to sheriffโs employees in Texas who suffered personal devastating losses as a result of Hurricane Harvey. The goal is to raise $10,000 for each โadoptedโ sheriffโs employee by October 1. Every dollar raised will go directly to Texas law enforcement families in need. Checks can be made out to the Dodge County Law Enforcement Association.
